Shoreline Village

Shoreline Village is one of the easiest places to end up when exploring downtown Long Beach. Sitting beside the marina, the colourful waterfront complex contains restaurants, shops and views across the harbour.

It is tourist-oriented, and that is not necessarily a problem. The location makes it a useful stop between larger attractions rather than somewhere you need to build an entire day around.

Walk the waterfront

The best reason to visit is the setting. Combine Shoreline Village with Rainbow Harbor, the Aquarium of the Pacific and the surrounding pedestrian paths.

From different points around the waterfront you can also appreciate the scale of the harbour and see the Queen Mary across the water.

Stay for sunset

Late afternoon and evening can be particularly pleasant when the light softens and the marina becomes part of the experience. Grab something to eat or simply continue walking beside the water.

If you are travelling with children, the compact area and nearby attractions make it convenient. Couples and solo travellers may prefer to treat it as one stop within a longer waterfront walk.

I would not call Shoreline Village the hidden Long Beach that locals keep secret. It is exactly where visitors are expected to go. But when a tourist area occupies a genuinely attractive waterfront location, there is no reason to avoid it simply because it is popular.
